Behind the Lens

My name is Sarah, and I am the lead photographer and owner of Page IV Photography.

I’ve spent the last 15 years falling in love with the art of taking photos and capturing the deep beauty of this world through the lens of my camera.

My photography career began using an entirely manual 35mm film camera. As I was forced to learn the scientific technicalities of exposure and photo developing, I also began to appreciate the nuance and art of creating images that tell a story and convey emotion. Through countless hours developing film and photos in a darkroom, I came to appreciate and love the "language of light" that black and white film photography speaks.

Since then, I have made the transition to digital photography and digital photo editing. Technology in photography now allows me the flexibility and opportunity to create striking images and effects that could not have been achieved using film. I deeply enjoy the artistry and creativity I get to employ in digital photo editing, though I still love the beauty and simplicity of black and white images.

As a photographer, it is my mission and goal to call attention to the beauty in the world around us. In capturing the details of this life - a ray of light, a moment, a look, a memory - it is my hope that my photographs will call the viewer to look deeper and closer - to really see. I love photographing the beauty in landscapes and nature. It is also my great joy to capture life's moments of joy and celebration for my clients. I consider it a privilege to be invited into these special times and to be given the opportunity to showcase my clients' individuality, unique gifts and perspectives on life.

The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.
